Only two weeks until the end of the Wave season. As we know, cruise lines traditionally offer attractive promotions in January, February and March. The reason is that they want to be as fully booked as possible from the beginning of the year. Regular cruisers usually make reservations well in advance of this period, so the battle is for those unsold cabins generally positioned on the lower decks or very AFT or FORWARD. Very rarely, and I repeat, very rarely, the cabins with easy access to the areas of interest, are offered at Wave Season. In the best case, they have common discounts, which you will find the same throughout the rest of the spring.
This discount period is not always the same. Every year it changes depending on several relevant factors and trends, but the most important are occupancy and time. The more the level of occupancy exceeds the financial forecast necessary for the economic stability of the company, the weaker the Wave Season is. And if this is done in advance, let’s say the last months of the previous year, then the discount period is more of a marketing strategy and not a real economy in the customers’ pockets.
There are some sites that offer even bigger discounts than the official websites of the cruise companies. It is also worth checking these because the reduced prices are negotiated in advance and on top of that they also come with various perks.

Europe deal: 2nd guest free + $250 free with Cruisefirst + Unlimited open bar (
For the 12th straight year, Norwegian Cruise Line was named Europe’s Leading Cruise Line at the World Travel Awards. My only complaint is the following: this year they have new destinations, different number of nights, and most cruises in Europe with boarding in one port and disembarking in another, which makes plane tickets very difficult to find. Somehow they copied the pattern used by other companies in the past, but which were not very successful.
